Q. How quickly can I have a website up and working?

Typically it is a matter of weeks before your website will be completed and indexed by the search engines. This is somewhat dependant on the size and shape of the website that you want but for a starter website you should start to see your service listed in the search engines rankings in 3 weeks.

Q. What is a Domain Name and do I need one?

Your domain name is your unique website name on the internet. For example our domain name is rasberrywebdesign.com and our website can be located by typing in the URL http://www.rasberrywebdesign.com into a browser. You will need to purchase a domain name but we can do all of this for you. We just need to agree what domain name you want, check to see if it's available and then register your ownership.

Q. What do I need to provide in order for Rasberry Web Design to design me a website?

We will need your help with the content of your website to ensure that we position your product or service in the best way possible. Don't worry though, we just need to understand what it is that you do, we will take care of making sure that your website makes sense and (very importantly) is understandable by the search engines. Also if you have any images or photographs that can be used on the website we will ask you to provide these as well.

Q. Can i get an email address that matches my website domain name?

Yes you can, in fact we can provide you with up to 3 email addresses that all have a @yourdomain.com format. These email addresses can then be accessed via webmail or if you have Outlook or Outlook Express you can connect to our mail server directly to download or send email.

Q. I've heard a lot about search engine optimisation and that you need it for people to find you in a search engine?

As the name implies Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO as its known in the industry) is the practice of making sure that your website is designed in such a way that the search engines like it and place it high in the search rankings. Without trying to consolidate a massive subject into one paragraph, the big search engines do not publicise how they decide what is a good website so the art of SEO is trying to work out what works and what doesn't.
